| I haven't been here in a long time because I went there...
goodbye forever. | | |
| I was struggling to get out of bed this morning after the usual five or so hours of sleep and realized that my last year of college is in full swing. This is it. Wow. I just thought I would share that revelation. The second issue of The Skyliner came out today. It looked pretty good overall, except for the headline on page 2 where I spelled "building" without a "d." No one else has said anything though, so I think I may be in the clear. At least for now... Erica and I had roommate night last night. We got a $5 cheese pizza from Little Ceasar's (and almost demolished the entire thing) and cheese rolls from the Oops Overbaked cart at Walmart. We also colored crayon artworks for each other and framed them on the walls. Then we had a rollie chair race down our dorm hall...then we had to grow up and do our homework. It was a wonderful night though. I love my Erica...even if she does talk in her sleep. Although things are extremely crazy right now, I really am enjoying life. I know that I will never have an experience like this ever again, and I don't want to take it for granted. Now, if you will excuse me, I need to finish pretending like I am working before the boss comes back in.

| I'm still alive. School has yet to take me down fully. This is a picture of my roommate and I showing our grills. Her name is Erica. She is fun to live with. We stay up some nights just laughing. You should want to be her friend too.
Newspaper is killing me. I love it. I think. I'm crazy.
I have nothing else to say really. I made a chocolate cake for my dad because it is his birthday on Sunday. Cool huh?
I have to go somewhere else now.

| Last night, I took a break from packing up to move back to school and working my little tail off at Blockbuster to go see my brother's band, Red Letter Days, play at the Handlebar. It was actually a very last minute thing. Garyn has been playing with these guys a few months now and they all went into the studio on Friday to make a demo. He brought the demo home late Friday night, excited to actually have finally put his music on a track. On Tuesday, the radio station The Buzzard contacted the band, saying they had heard the demo and wanted them to open up for Last November and Then I Turned Seven at the Handlebar the next night. Of course, they were all really excited to do so. I am getting ahead of myself though. Before the call even came, Garyn had already had enough excitement. There was no gas in the van, so he was going to skateboard over to Molly's house, which isn't too terribly far from ours. He hit a patch of gravel and hit the pavement, head first. He completely shredded one side of his body. He fell on his phone so he couldn't call anyone to pick him up and had to walk all the way back to our house. Mom opened the front door to Garyn with blood running down his face, and, well, I'm sure you can guess the rest...the doctor and all that. So then Garyn gets the call and decides that he has to play no matter what. Last night, he got on stage, huge white guaze bandages covering his arm and hand and even more not seen under his clothes...and somehow he played the guitar and sang the songs and even ran around the stage a bit. I am pretty sure he won't be able to move today. After the Red Letter Days set, the manager for Last November came up to Garyn and told him that he really like their sound and wanted to start promoting them and working with them. Keep in mind that tomorrow will be exactly a week since they recorded their demo and they have only played one show before this. I thought things only happened like this in the movies. My baby brother, the rock star... | | |
| I was reading the news at Relevant and this made me really laugh...
A power outage
in Los Angeles knocked out MySpace.com at several points over the
weekend. Thousands of social lives suffered from the event, leaving
many high-school and college students with no idea how to contact their
friends, spend several unscheduled hours and function normally in
society … | | |
